Esra
I build software, explore AI, and learn by turning ideas into working projects.
I’m especially interested in LLMs, RAG, AI applications, and backend development. I like going beyond simply calling a model through an API — understanding how the pieces behind it work, how data moves through a system, how the right information gets retrieved, and how everything comes together into something people can actually use.
Most of what I learn comes from building things myself. When something doesn’t work, I like figuring out why instead of working around it. That usually means digging into the backend, data flow, retrieval, embeddings, APIs, or deployment until I understand what is actually happening.
What I’m building
EsraGPT — An LLM-powered chat application where I explore the backend and model integrations behind an AI assistant.
AI RAG Chatbot — A RAG-based AI assistant that combines document retrieval, embeddings, web search, and an LLM. This is where I’ve been exploring how chunking, embeddings, retrieval, and generation fit together as one system.
AI Duygu Analizi — An AI-powered chat application that analyzes the emotional content of conversations, bringing together a frontend, backend, and AI service.
I mainly work with Python, C#, .NET, FastAPI, SQL, and Git, and I’m continuing to go deeper into backend engineering and AI systems.
What I write about
A lot of what I learn starts with a question, a broken piece of code, or something I couldn’t quite understand.
I write about LLMs, RAG, embeddings, backend development, AI applications, and the problems I run into while building projects.
My blog will collect those notes and projects in one place. New posts published on Medium will also appear here automatically.

Outside the screen
I live in Istanbul.
When I’m not writing code, I like reading books, playing the violin, and painting.
I enjoy having things that require a different kind of attention. Coding can mean spending hours trying to understand why something broke; reading, playing the violin, or painting gives me a completely different way to slow down and think.
I’m still learning, still building, and still figuring things out along the way.

If you’re building something around AI, backend systems, LLMs, or RAG, I’d be happy to hear about it.
